If you have downloaded my styles before, you will notice that the set number in the preview title has changed. This is because I am also in the process of redoing my web page, (www.dragonzgold.com), and the previews for all of the designs there. I am adding all of the styles offered on this blog as well, so in order to keep things consistent between the two sites, I regrouped all of the styles into new sets.

Photoshop Freebie: Day 1 of Style-A-Day Giveaway!

I can't believe it's been over four months since my last post! It's been a busy time for me, and as much as I wanted to offer more freebies, I just couldn't seem to come up with any ideas. Sort of the graphics equivalent of writer's block? Hmmm...

Well, I'm back now, but this time I'm offering something a little bit different! I started taking Photoshop lessons, and fell in love with layer styles. I had so much fun making them, that I wanted to share them with you.

My plan is to try and offer one free layer style a day, or as often as I can. Hopefully it will be at least one a day. Who knows - maybe I surprise you and offer two!

The first couple of sets are Halloween themed - oranges, purples, greens and blacks. I hope you like them all, and would love some feedback.

Cross Stitch Alpha freebie!

I've always enjoyed doing counted cross stitch, and have seen a few different examples in digital scrapbooking. But as usual, I wanted to experiment with my own version of stitches and cloth. So I spent the last few months creating various versions of an X stitch, as well as a back stitch, trying to get them to look at least semi-realistic, until I finally came up with something I liked. I wanted to do an alpha, but it was difficult to decide what kind of background pattern to use. There aren't really any commercial-use cross stitch patterns, so I came up with my own design!

The end result is another HUGE alpha! I have broken them down in sets. Each set is one color, and contains 67 .jpg files (A through Z in both upper and lower case, 0 through 9, and a few misc. characters).

Here are two previews - one shows an example of the colors, and the other shows a little more detail.

Easter Egg Alpha freebie!

I have been working on two Easter alphas, but was only able to finish one of them. The one I did finish, though, is HUGE! There are over 400 files included, and I had to break it down into 4 downloads to make it more manageable. (Plus my free 4shared account doesn't allow files over 200MB.)

I got the idea for this alpha after seeing a picture of some panoramic Easter eggs. You know... the ones that are hollow and have scenes of bunnies and flowers, etc. inside? I decided to try using the same general idea for an Alpha, and was pleased with the result. I hope you like it too, and can use it in some way.

Here are the four download links. For those of you that don't have high speed internet, the first three downloads are just over 100MB. The last one is fairly small, at about 10MB or so.

I am working on another Alpha, but don't know if I will have it finished in time for Valentine's Day, so I may save that one for later. I have been working on a kit for Thanksgiving and was hoping I would have it finished in time, but it doesn't look like I am going to be able to manage it. So... I decided to start posting the kit piece by piece, beginning with the Alpha. There are actually two alphas - one in a Thanksgiving color pattern, and one in grayscale so you can change the color of the Alpha to coordinate with your project. Here's the patterned one:

New Halloween kit freebies!

Still having some trouble with my wrist, but I finally finished upgrading the elements from my old Halloween kit (from 200ppi to 300ppi) and actually created new versions of some of the elements rather than update them. The old 200ppi kit is still available on my website, if you are interested, and can be found (here).

There were so many elements in the new version of this kit that I decided to break it up into smaller pieces. Here are the previews of each one. The download links can be found below each preview.

I haven't been able to work on much or post anything in a while. I started having trouble with my right wrist, and have been struggling just to get through my day at work. I suspect it is the beginning of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, which my mom also suffers from. I have a bunch of things in the works that I need to finish, and hope to be able to post them soon. I finally finished updating some items from an old kit I made last year called School Daze. The old kit was made in 200ppi, and is still available on my website at www.dragonzgold.com.

What a hectic week it's been! I was hoping to get my new freebie finished and posted over the weekend, but haven't had time to sit at the computer for more than a few minutes at a time. I was able to work on it during my lunch hour today, and finally finished it:Not everything is shown in the preview. I also included a plain grayscale frame (no pearls or diamonds) so you can colorize it and decorate it to coordinate with whatever project you're working on. Welcome to my brand new blog!

What a struggle it's been to get this thing up and running! I have done several websites before, so I know basic CSS and XHTML, but setting up this blog was more work and harder than I expected. Hopefully everything is going to work the way I want it to. I guess only time will tell, right?

I do have a regular website which I maintain (www.dragonzgold.com), but the reason I set up this blog is that I don't have a lot of free time to devote to designing and creating. Since it takes quite a while for me to put an entire kit together, my website isn't updated very often. I thought it would be easier to share things as I create them and when a kit is complete, all of the individual items will be put together and moved to the website as a full kit.

For my grand opening, I am posting a brand new freebie:
